What We Do

A careful review of scheme statements, nomination forms, and fund correspondence. The review produces a written note in plain English covering matters that may benefit from attention.

  • Points for confirmation with your fund
Mediation and negotiated settlement

Mediation and Negotiated Settlement

A structured engagement for matters suited to mediation. Covers preparation of a written position, attendance at sessions, and follow-up correspondence to formalise any agreement reached.

  • Written position prepared
  • Paced for considered reflection
  • Agreement formalised in writing
Pension tribunal representation

Tribunal Representation

Full representation for matters proceeding to formal tribunal hearings — pension entitlements, scheme administration, or beneficiary nomination disputes. Fees are agreed per phase before work begins.

Why Clients Choose Us

An approach shaped around the matter

Focused specialisation

Our practice centres on pension-related legal matters. That focus means every engagement draws on a concentrated body of experience in scheme rules, fund administration, and beneficiary disputes.

Fees agreed before work begins

Fees are discussed openly and confirmed in a written fee agreement before any work is undertaken. There are no hidden charges and no surprises when an invoice arrives.

Unhurried engagement

Pension matters touch on long-term security and family arrangements. We allow time between stages so that decisions are made with proper consideration rather than under pressure.

Plain English documentation

Written notes and submissions are prepared in plain, readable English. Legal terminology is explained where it appears, so you understand the substance of every document we prepare.

Direct practitioner contact

You deal directly with the practitioner handling your matter throughout the engagement. Files are not passed between team members without your knowledge.

Established in Penang

Our chambers have been based in George Town since 2009. We are familiar with the regional context that shapes pension and employment arrangements for clients across northern Malaysia.

Common Questions

Questions about our services

What happens during the initial consultation?
The initial conversation is a short, informal exchange — typically by phone or at our George Town office — where you describe the matter and we consider whether our services are likely to be of assistance. There is no charge for this conversation and no expectation of further engagement. If the matter falls within our area of practice, we will explain what an engagement might involve and how fees would be structured.
How are fees determined and when are they agreed?
Fees are discussed openly before any work begins. For document review engagements, the fee is fixed and confirmed in writing at the outset. For mediation and tribunal matters, fees are agreed per phase so that you retain control over the scope and cost before each stage progresses. Nothing proceeds without a written fee agreement signed by both parties.
What documents should I bring to the first meeting?
Whatever you have readily available is sufficient for the first conversation. Useful documents include recent scheme statements, any nomination forms you have submitted or received, correspondence from your pension fund or employer, and any letters regarding a dispute or change in entitlement. You are not expected to have organised files at this stage — we can work through what is relevant together.
How long does a document review take?
A standard Pension Document Review is typically completed within ten to fifteen working days of receiving all relevant materials. We will confirm a specific timeframe when we receive your documents. A written note is prepared and shared with you in print and electronic form on completion.
Can you assist with matters involving EPF (Employees Provident Fund)?
Our services extend to matters involving EPF scheme documentation, nomination disputes, and related entitlement questions. If your matter involves EPF administration, correspondence with the fund, or a dispute about a withdrawal or nomination, please describe the circumstances during our initial conversation and we will confirm whether the engagement falls within our scope.
Is everything discussed kept confidential?
Yes. All information shared with us — whether during the initial conversation or throughout an engagement — is treated as strictly confidential. Legal professional privilege applies to communications with our chambers. We do not share client information with third parties without your written consent, except where required by law.
